Beauty bloggers test out our products – find out what they thought!

We love getting feedback from our Naturtint users and just recently two lifestyle bloggers shared their thoughts after trialing some of the range.

First up is Helen from whatsgoodtodo.com who tried the Naturtint Permanent Hair Gel 8A Ash Blonde…

“I don’t often dye my hair at home as I tend to find it really rather tedious, and frankly a very smelly affair due to all the disgusting ammonia involved! I have been known to dye my hair various colours in the past and the process has always been messy and time consuming, but never quite achieving what I hoped it would.

I was given an opportunity to try out and review Naturtint’s naturally better, gentle, effective hair colour so I had a nose around their website to find out a bit more. Their site says they have been at the forefront of reducing chemicals in hair colourants for the last 20 years, which is impressive. They provide the complete ingredient list for all their products, so you know exactly what you’re putting on your body, and with high levels of natural and approved or certified organic ingredients they state they are one of the most effective, naturally better permanent hair colour ranges on the market. It was very good to read that they are against animal testing, and their products are both vegetarian and vegan.

If you’re unsure about which colour to go for, the website has a helpful section called Finding your Shade. This tells you about all of the colours in their range and their shade codes, and then talks you through three steps to find your shade, whether you want a natural colour, and ash colour, a copper or golden colour, or you want to cover grey. I have started to see some grey hair peeking through, and while I’m not overly bothered about it I thought I may as well try and find a shade that could help to cover it. I first found my natural colour, then selected a shade I wanted to try based on the advice on the site.

When the box came it was clear that it was a permanent colour without ammonia to give 100% grey coverage, and gave long lasting, naturally radiant colour and shine. The box contained 4 simple things: a bottle of colour developer, a bottle of hair colour, a tube of a quinoa hair mask, and the instructions with gloves attached. I found the instructions appeared very clear so I got to work, mixing the colour with the developer. Usually at this point you are hit with a heady stink of ammonia but I could barely smell anything from this dye kit which was refreshing.

Applying it was easy; once you put on the gloves and wrap yourself up in a towel to protect your clothes, you just add the dye to your roots (ably assisted by a husband or child in my case) and then massage through the lengths of your hair. Once done you leave on for 30 minutes to develop, or up to 40 if you want more intense colour or to cover stubborn grey, before rinsing out. When dying my hair in the past the colour has often continued to rinse out of my hair for a long time afterward however with this kit it really didn’t.

After rinsing you can apply the supplied quinoa hair mask for 3-5 minutes. This mask helps to prolong the vibrancy and intensity of your colour for longer. I found it left my hair feeling soft and shiny too.

I found this kit easy to use and it coloured my hair evenly, not leaving horrible patchy bits around the roots that I’ve found with kits in the past. My hair feels nourished and not dry, so Naturtint hair dyes are clearly a beauty must have for any adult wanting a change of colour or to disguise some greys.

Next up is Molly from askmollybeauty who tested the Naturtint Hair Food Goji Mask – here she tells us whether it did indeed revitalise her hair!

My hair is in need of a good drench of hydration, and so recently I’ve been testing hair masks. I have used Naturtint products before and am always impressed by the quality of ingredients. This one contains:-

My before picture shows that my hair is naturally dry, flyaway and looks dry…

Here’s the results without use of any serums, dried naturally and brushed through like my photo above – sometimes a photo speaks volumes and on this occasion you can see for yourself the great results!

I applied it after shampooing and whilst still in the shower. It only takes 4 minutes to work so that’s a bonus for busy mums like myself, or those who have broken ankles and can’t stand in the shower for long, like myself. It smells absolutely scrumptious, fruity and berry and whilst it says to ‘apply generously’ all over the hair, I simply applied mid-lengths to the ends.

A big thank you to both Helen and Molly for taking the time to review the products and sharing their honest feedback with us!
