When Lockdown Hair meets Winter Frizz….đ±

How to prevent the birdâs nest look now that the cold weather has arrived…
You know the feeling, youâve blow-dried your hair perfectly, and youâre ready to face the day, but within five minutes of leaving the house, itâs tangled, frizzy, and lost all its bounce!
Well, fear not. Our in-house hairdresser, Kerry Capewell has a few tips to help you survive the season.
Number one on her list is a reminder always to make sure your hair is completely dry before you leave the house.
âAs tempting as it is, when weâre rushing around trying to get everything done, itâs important to thoroughly dry your hair before you expose it to the elements,â she said.
âRemember, cold makes things expand; think of your house pipes bursting, and thatâs basically what can happen to your hair shaft. This increases the risk of hair breakage, rough cuticles, and even colour fade.â
Invest in a leave-in conditioner before you use the dryer, and you wonât need to worry about damaging your hair, but itâs always a good idea to try to restrict your use of heated styling tools to special occasions.
Naturtint Anti-Ageing CC Cream is perfect for protecting your hair. Formulated with natural and organic plant and seed oils and extracts, it helps combat the main signs of hair ageing and protect your hair from damage, heat, UV, and pollution. Your hairâs natural keratin is restored, leaving it healthy and full of shine. It will also help to prevent colour fade caused by exposure to harsh elements.
If you are a fan of this seasonâs super-cute bobble hats, then look for one with a silk or satin lining.
Kerry explains why: âWool, acrylics, and cotton can all contribute to split ends, so itâs worth either hunting out a hat with a softer lining, silk is perfect, or failing that you could always wear a thin silk scarf underneath to help keep your hair looking perfect.
âThe natural properties of silk, including its smooth surface, can help reduce friction on your hair, which often causes damage, like split ends and tangled strands.â
Itâs also worth investing in an intense moisturising shampoo to give your hair the hydration boost it needs in colder weather and help combat the dreaded static frizz!
Kerry said: âThereâs nothing worse than static hair but relax; there are many ways to deal with the problem. One of the main reasons our hair suffers from it is that itâs dehydrated.
âFirst of all, try swapping your usual shampoo for one that is extra moisturising for dry hair and invest in a conditioning mask; these will help to counter the dehydration caused by indoor heating and cold winter winds.â
Try Naturtintâs new 2-in1 shampoo and conditioner bars (you can read our blog post all about them here!).
The Nourishing Anti-Frizz bar contains argan oil and has a natural honey aroma. It deeply nourishes hair to help prevent static frizziness.
Argan oil, rich in oleic acid and vitamins E and A, nourishes and revitalises the hair fibres, repairing damaged and brittle hair. The hair recovers its shine and natural vitality.
What’s more, the bars are all made from natural ingredients and certified Eco-Cert Cosmos Natural. The packaging is recyclable cardboard.
All the bars are based on coconut-derived cleansers, a concentrated, natural origin surfactant that creates a soft, creamy, and luxurious foam, to clean and condition your hair. Plus, cocoa butter and meadowfoam seed oil deeply hydrate the scalp for optimal comfort.
